Set in Boston, The Departed is a beautifully shot film about two people living in a normal setting, but aren't really normal people. I love the casting and each actor/actress performed so well. Movies that have actors who actually fit their role just slap. I really enjoyed the way the cinematography was set up like for the police interrogation scene and like the one where the guy fell off the roof. I am a big Wahlberg fan as of recent and Matt Damon is great as well since I loved the Jason Bourne movies (until they got repetitive...). This movie was entertaining, it was like actually exciting to watch. I would give it a 8.7/10 so a pretty positive review.

This movie was sick. Easily my favorite Western. It was so entertaining and I just got lost in it. The camera shots and the different techniques like the flashbacks and the separation of chapters during the movie were so cool. The way that Tarantino didn't cut every 2 seconds and actually let a scene sit for a little made it feel like an older movie which is masterful. Also the movie was shot on film too to keep this old-timey effect since it was shot post civil war. It felt like a masterful play. I am such a huge Tarantino fan now because I love the way he can take a basic movie plot or genre, and make it unique in some way. While watching it, I felt like I was watching 8 people play the game "clue." Also the casting was perfect and Samuel L Jackson was awesome. The movie was a little slow, and it was long, but this was definitely beneficial for build up and development. It was not me sitting down to watch a film, it was an experience. This for me was a top 5 movie.
This movie was different from anything I have ever watched. It went from being really positive and great, to being really depressing multiple times. I havn't ever really watched a romance movie before and this one was so well done. The story and developments that happen between the couple is not something that is unrealistic and it happens in our world today. But just them being so happy together and then her marrying someone else was super hard to watch because it destroyed Tom. The expectation vs reality scene really hit home for me because I and many others will go into things and come out of them unhappy for unfulfilled. The way that Tom later on in life figured out it was all for the best and he took it as a lesson was very special to see happen. It was really a rollercoaster of emotions the whole time and I don't really usually watch movies like this so I'm going to give it a solid 8.5/10.
Big George Foreman, a biopic, was a really mediocre sports movie. It is pretty similar to a Rocky movie or a Creed movie, and I think both of these other trilogies are WAY better. Don't get me wrong, in no instance of any sports movie do they have you thinking "Oh is he going to do it?" However, this movie didn't really build any suspense because you never worried for the guy. Although I will say sometimes a good ole' stress free movie is sometimes what you need you know? This movie has a really strong spiritual message which I think definitely worked with the plot, but might not please the whole audience. This movie was not a top quality sports movie, and it was just fine. If I hadn't of already seen Rocky 1, 2, and 3 and also had seen Creed 1, 2, and 3 I think this movie would of been better to watch. So since it felt repetitive to all the other boxing movies, but just had a little religious twist to it, I didn't really enjoy it. I don't know if the spiritual message is necessarily a good thing because the movie should be appealing to sports fans, not just Christian fans. I am settling on giving it a 7/10.
